What a remap actually changes

Every modern vehicle is run by an ECU, the engine control unit, which is the small computer that decides how much fuel and boost the engine gets. Manufacturers write that software for the whole world, with different fuel quality and different altitude in mind. A remap replaces it with software built around your engine and the roads you drive on. Owners tend to feel it as stronger pull through the mid range, smoother throttle response, and less need to drop a gear on a hill or with a loaded bakkie. Chris arrives, checks the vehicle, reads and saves the standard file, writes the new one and hands the vehicle back to you at your own gate.

Yes. That is how Saftrade works. Chris brings the tuning equipment to your home or your workplace anywhere in Gauteng and does the remap there. You do not have to book time off, sit in a waiting room or leave your vehicle at a workshop.
Is a remap safe for my engine?
The vehicle is checked before anything is written, the standard file is read and saved, and the new file is built around what your engine, turbo and gearbox can handle. Chris does not chase a number for the sake of it. If something on the vehicle needs attention first, he will tell you straight rather than tune over a problem.
Will it affect my warranty?

It is done in a single visit, while you carry on with your day. The time depends on the vehicle and how the ECU is accessed, so Chris will tell you what to expect when you book, before he arrives.
Can it be reversed?
Yes. Your standard file is read and saved before any changes are made, so the vehicle can be put back to the original software if you sell it, take it to a dealer, or simply change your mind.
